Above ground, the Greenbrier Resort is beautiful. But below the wing on the right, built into the hillside, is a sprawling underground bunker where Congress would have been relocated in the event of a nuclear strike during the Cold War. It was top secret until 1992, but now it is open for tours. Sorry, no pictures of the inside of the bunker--phones and cameras not allowed!
