In 1943, a B-17 training mission went off course and accidentally bombed Boise City, Oklahoma. No one was hurt and there was minimal damage. Today, a replica bomb memorializes the event on the town square.

The fossilized skeletons of 19 Columbian Mammoths were discovered in Waco, the largest such find anywhere. Columbian Mammoths were, well, mammoth. The tusks on this guy were 11 feet long!
