 The 14 story Kennecott Mill building was once the largest copper processing operation in the world. It ceased operations in 1938, but still survives and is slowly being restored.

 Every year this contraption is placed on the frozen Tanana  River. When the ice breaks in the spring, it falls over and stops a clock. Since 1917 people have placed bets on the date and time the clock will show. This year’s jackpot was $211,267.
