The town of Jerome is perched on the side of a mountain. In 1935, their jail slid 225 feet down the mountain, but remained intact. Today, this crumbling, unattractive building is an oddly popular tourist attraction, necessitating an overflow parking lot a half-mile away to handle the crowds!
